Meet us at the Advanced Maritime Technology Expo and Conference

AMT 2026

We are very pleased to attend, exhibit and present at the  Advanced Maritime Technology Expo and Conference 2026 taking place at the RAI, Amsterdam from June 16 to June 18, 2026.

Conference Talk

“Study of hybrid vessel with battery downsizing – K-Challenge Lab-2”

Presenting author: Matthieu Desbois-Renaudin
Date: Thursday 18 June
Session: Concepts and innovations
Presentation time: 11:35 – 12:00

This presentation explains the work done on the new hybrid powertrain for the K-Challenge Lab fast vessel, to optimize battery size and weight while keeping the same performance and increasing battery life.

The battery requirements for the hybrid powertrain are the following:

  • Embedded energy: 60 kWh
  • 180 kW (3C) continuous discharge power
  • Marine Type Approval

Classical batteries with Marine Type Approval present a maximum continuous current of 0.5C and peaks up to 1C. WATTALPS offered a battery fulfilling all these requirements with even additional margins in power, leading to 70% weight savings and improved vessel efficiency.

Meet us at our booth #4150
