Thermal management
To enable fast charging, batteries must be extremely well cooled and maintained at optimal temperature conditions before charging begins. During charging, significant stress is placed on the cells, generating a lot of heat. Effective thermal control & uniform temperature distribution across the battery pack are essential to dissipate this heat and ensure both longevity and performance.
High charge acceptance rate
Batteries must be capable of absorbing high currents quickly without excessive heat buildup. The reference of the cells plays a critical role here, as it must withstand such high currents repeatedly to preserve durability.
Battery life
The battery daily duty cycle and target life (how many fast charges per day, days per year and years of life) must be specified and validated, to make sure that the Total Cost of Ownership is relevant.
